Coronavirus (COVID-19) Alert

We cannot thank you enough for your donation at StemExpress.

As the Coronavirus begins to have an increased impact on our communities, we wanted to connect and inform you of the steps we are taking to keep everyone healthy and safe. Our collection centers are cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis. We are also increasing those efforts and adding additional resources such as hand sanitizer in our lobby and staff areas.

With these precautions in mind, we want to stress how important it is to continue being a donor now more than ever as we do not want to lose our momentum on crucial research due to this crisis.

However, we want to stress that if you are not feeling well or have been in contact with someone who isn’t feeling well, please stay home and reschedule your appointment.

Our staff will be asking additional health screening questions on the phone and at your appointment. Based on the information we have received to date; we are confident we will continue business as usual.

Here are some ways to prevent the spread of any illness:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow. Throw all used tissues in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • People experiencing worsening flu-like symptoms should call their doctor immediately.
  • Call ahead if you’ve recently traveled to areas with widespread or sustained transmission or have had contact with a person with confirmed COVID-19 while they were ill.

For 2019-2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the use of any licensed, age-appropriate flu vaccine as an option for vaccination this season. While it won’t protect you against COVID-19, it will help protect you against the flu.

Donating blood for medical research provides many different benefits and can truly have a lasting impact on the future of healthcare. We appreciate you.
