COVID-19 UPDATE

As our daily norms continue to change due to the COVID-19 virus the overall messaging that we must all do our part to keep ourselves and each other safe remains the same. Only essential businesses are permitted to remain open. Similar to a hospital, grocery store, or pharmacy, donating blood is essential to ensure the health of our communities.

The work we do here at StemExpress is considered essential and therefore we will remain open at all of our locations throughout the United States.

Our clients are actively working on cures, treatments, vaccines, device developments and testing options for COVID-19 along with other illnesses. All of this direct work is essential and will continue during this crisis.

We need eligible and healthy donors to make an appointment to provide lifesaving blood products at one of our donation centers TODAY!

StemExpress donor centers provide private rooms for donors that are cleaned and sanitized between each donation. We can assure you that we are taking precautions to make sure all donors can donate safely.

In line with our existing health and safety standards for the center, our collection centers are routinely cleaned and sanitized throughout the day. We are also increasing those daily efforts by adding additional resources to provide cleaning and sanitization supplies in our lobby and staff areas.

Please know that your health, your families health and the health of our staff is always the first thing on our mind.

DONORS WANTED

If you are not feeling well or have been in contact with someone who isn’t feeling well, please stay home and reschedule your appointment. If you are in good health, please click on the link below to request an appointment. If you have any questions, please fill out a Contact Us form.

We encourage you to visit the CDC website for the most current developments. Please note there is a lot of information circulating, so please ensure your information is coming from a reliable source.

Below are reminders of how to prevent the spread of any illness:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow. Throw used tissues in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • People experiencing worsening flu-like symptoms should call their doctor immediately.
  • Call ahead if you’ve recently traveled to areas with widespread or sustained transmission or have had contact with a person with confirmed COVID-19 while they were ill.
  • For 2019-2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the use of any licensed, age-appropriate flu vaccine as an option for vaccination this season. While it won’t protect you against COVID-19, it will protect you against the flu.

Donating for medical research provides many different benefits and can truly have a lasting impact on the future of healthcare and crises like these. We appreciate you.
